I bought a great dress online through preownedweddingdresses.com! This site is a great resource for brides looking to both buy or sell a dress. They have a large variety of dresses and sizes. The dresses range from brand new with tags to samples, to once worn. Great if you are looking for a designer gown for a bit cheaper than retail. If you want to see my dress, click here and here (and no, that’s not me, if you don’t know what I look like!). Don’t show Zach! Here are some great dresses I found on the site:

I discovered The Frock a couple months ago and have been meaning to post about it ever since. This is a great resource for one of a kind (or close to) vintage dresses. Be sure to check out not only the bridal sections, but also the designer, flapper, and mid-century sections for great finds for a wedding dress or gown for another event. Here are some of my favorites!

I’ve been so busy with weddings and portraits, there has been no time to plan my own wedding! I feel good about one thing I have accomplished so far… Zach and I got our engagement pictures done by the fabulous, Angelica Glass! When we met up with her in her Queens neighborhood, she told us how nervous she was to shoot another photographer! She is such a ridiculously good photographer, no nervousness necessary. Afterwards, we grabbed a bite of Thai food around the corner, to Zach’s delight! He even thought the whole process painless. Here are a couple previews she sent me! Btw, I plan on sharing who my photographers are, but not till I have a date and venue, so everyone doesn’t snatch them up before me!

Here are a couple other random images from her recent work that I love.

I recently stumbled upon the work of Robin Zachary. She specializes in creative direction for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and still life. Check out some of her inspirational work with wedding shoot styling.

I’ll post some more of Robin Zachary’s work in the upcoming weeks!

The more and more I look online and reference back to what I tried on, the more I love Reem Acra. Amongst the large number of big ballgowns, there are some real gems in the collections.
These I tried on:

I’d love to try on these too:

not sure about the bottom of this one, but I love the pattern of the gathering of the top:

Here are some from the Spring 2009 line:

I’ve neglected this blog for a couple weeks, but it’s been crazy with my weddings starting up, trying to plan my own wedding, and my allergies kicking my butt! I’m finally getting closer to getting my venue nailed down. Once that happens, I want to share some of the wonderful places I’ve stumbled upon along the way! For now, I leave you with some images of dresses I tried on this week in NYC.

I never thought I’d like any fuller dresses, but this simple dress is gorgeous - I love the little detail on the neckline

Reem Acra

There are a couple others I can’t seem to find online from the bridal shop we went to. We also checked out some department stores and found these too!
Rickie Freeman Teri Jon

I can’t find the images of a couple blue dresses from Roland Nivelais, but they were beautiful and found at both Sak’s and Bergdorf’s.
At Bergdorf’s we found this gorgeous Reem Acra eveningwear dress

and this Monique Lhuillier

and this Robert Danesdress was so neat

While checking out makeup ideas, I stumbled upon these crazy creative faux eyelashes from Shu Uemura. How fun would they be for a masquerade themed wedding?
